OFCY 2022-2025 Request for Proposals Released 

The Oakland Fund for Children and Youth (OFCY) released the 2022-2025 Request for Proposals (RFP) on January 10, 2022 to solicit program proposals from non-profit organizations and public agencies. The City of Oakland projects approximately $18 million in grant funding will be available through this RFP in FY22-23 to provide direct services for Oakland children and youth from birth through 21 years of age and their families and caregivers. Proposals are due by February 22, 2022.

Pre-Proposal Meeting January 19, 2022

OFCY hosted a virtual pre-proposal meeting on Wednesday January 19, 2022 10am-12pm. Topics included OFCY's strategic investment plan, proposal requirements, application process, selection process and timeline, and City of Oakland contracts and compliance requirements presented by the Department of Workplace and Employment Standards. Resources from the meeting are available here:

Technical Assistance by Email 

OFCY will receive questions only by email to until 5:00pm Friday February 4, 2022. No phone or in-person technical assistance will be provided. All questions will be responded to directly. In addition, the responses will be publicly posted here to assist other applicants. Postings will occur weekly, with the final posting by the end of the day Friday February 11, 2022.

Local Business Certification Workshop for Non-Profits 

The Oakland Fund for Children and Youth (OFCY), Department of Violence Prevention (DVP), and the Department of Workplace and Employment Standards and its Contracts & Compliance Division hosted a workshop on December 10, 2021 on the requirements and process of getting certified with the City. The City encourages all non-profits located in Oakland to apply for the Local Business Enterprise (LBE) or Small Local Business Enterprise (SLBE) or Very Small Local Business Enterprise (VSLBE) certification. Certified non-profits may earn preference points when applying to City of Oakland funding opportunities. Resources from the workshop are available here:


Contracting with the City of Oakland
